Minecrafts Caves & Cliffs update is out, adding axolotls, goats and 91 new blocks – Rock Paper Shotgun

Minecraft‘s Caves & & Cliffs update is among the biggest ever updates to the aging blockbuilder – so big it’s been split into two. Part one includes 91 new blocks, including powder snow, retractable vine platforms and copper, together with fighty wildlife like axolotls and goats. It’s making me wish to reinstall Minecraft again for the very first time in years.

Here’s the release trailer, which is enjoyable:

I fully anticipated to only have an interest in the axolotls and goats, honestly, however the block stuff is pretty fascinating. A lot of the 91 new blocks appear throughout world generation, rather than just being added as spawnable items in Creative mode, and a lot of them are lively. Powder snow, for example, can be fallen through, causing players to end up being lost in their white stretch and having to dig their escape.

Copper, the brand-new ore, works in that it can be used to build lightning arrester so your house does not burn down, but it also changes and oxidises colour gradually. All of the video game’s ore has been given a visual transformation, too, both to make it more accessible to colour blind gamers and to just make it look more intriguing.

Yes, none of the blocks are as cute as the brand-new creatures. Goats will ram gamers and other creatures, punting them across the map, while axolotls are relatively predators despite appearing like happy marshmallows and will assault basically every other creature.
