AFTER a challenging year, bars across Basingstoke are among the services celebrating England’s transfer to the second action out of lockdown.
Whether capturing up with family and friends, taking a pit-stop in a day of going to the stores, or eager to support their regional establishment, punters flocked the town’s beer gardens, with the sun coming out in the nick of time for an outside afternoon pint.
Even before 10am, some excited pub-goers were waiting outside their preferred haunts, with 4 clients standing patiently outside The Angel in Festival Place.
And Wetherspoon weren’t the only popular ones, with pubs throughout the town bristling with pre-booked celebrations and buzzing with the enjoyment of socialisation.
Although precaution and guidelines remain in location, with staff using masks, and table service needed, for lots of today’s journey to the club marked a huge moment in returning to ‘normal’.
