There’s been a great deal of buzz around the approaching Xbox exclusives Fable, Perfect Dark and Everwild (among others) because they were revealed, but sadly it looks like we’ve got a long haul until they get here.
In truth, market reporter and head of GamesIndustry.biz Chris Dring stated on the current VGC Off The Record podcast that based on conversations he’s had with Xbox Game Studios workers, it could be several years:
“I had a couple of conversations with a couple of pals at Xbox Game Studios. Those video games that they revealed – Everwild, Perfect Dark, Fable – are so far. As in, there might even be a new Xbox (a mid-tier upgrade) by the time those video games come out.
They are up until now away, and no surprise Xbox is looking at investing and signing certain items at the minute, because they do not have a lineup of big exclusives at all.”
Certainly, we have not heard much about any of these three games in recent months aside from recruitment drive news and little titbits of info, so we’ll have to see if E3 brings us any new developments this summertime.
In any case, it sounds like it’ll be a long while prior to we’re getting hands-on with these highly-anticipated titles.
