Back in September, Google Maps revealed the choice to pay for parking fares from within its Android app. The payments went through Google Pay and the whole procedure was carried out in cooperation with Passport Parking. In a new article, Google announced the “Pay for Parking” function within Maps is now readily available in over 400 United States cities including Boston, Cincinnati, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C and coming to iOS users soon.
In addition, Google Maps users will have the ability to pay for transit fares in 80 more transit agencies internationally through GPay. Public transportation users in select areas like San Francisco will also have the ability to purchase transit credit through Maps for contactless and uncomplicated public transportation trips. The brand-new transit payment feature is presenting in the coming weeks.
