Stadia’s Phil Harrison commended SG&E devs for ‘great progress’ days before killing the studio – 9to5Google

In the email, Harrison commended the “great development” made by SG&E studios to date, stating that Google would validate the “SG&E financial investment envelope quickly,” which would notify technique and goals for the division in 2021. Apparently, SG&E employees just found out of the studio closure at practically the exact same time as the public did. Possibly the most frustrating information in this report is the impact the closure is having on the 150+ developers Google employed for SG&E.

In the e-mail, Harrison applauded the “fantastic progress” made by SG&E studios to date, stating that Google would validate the “SG&E financial investment envelope soon,” which would notify method and goals for the division in 2021. Apparently, SG&E workers just learned of the studio closure at nearly the same time as the public did. Perhaps the most discouraging detail in this report is the effect the closure is having on the 150+ developers Google employed for SG&E. Google previously pointed out that it would find new positions for displaced employees in other parts of the business, however apparently, the company is having a hard time to do so as the employees hired have actually specialized skill sets that other positions can’t take advantage of.
