In terms of follows up, there’s maybe just one that we’re anticipating more than Horizon Forbidden West— which one’s got Kratos in it. It’s reasonable to say that Guerrilla Games nailed its shift from gritty sci-fi shooters to dream role-playing games with aplomb when it released Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017, and it sounds like its PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 sequel will thrill series fans.
“The new areas that Aloy is traveling to, the people that she’s meeting, and the story that unfolds […] I got a guide on all of it before taping for the game, where the writing team took me through the arc of the story and it was like being a kid at a campfire,” beamed retuning voice starlet Ashly Burch as part of an interview with Games Radar.
“I’m simply so thrilled for it,” she continued. “I’m also a fan, so I’ll be in recording sessions and we’ll be taping a scene and I’m like, ‘I can’t wait to do this battle or I can’t wait to explore this location!’ All of the things that individuals loved about Zero Dawn– the stunning world, the immersive story, the remarkable gameplay– Forbidden West is just more and much better.”
Burch included that development on the job is ongoing regardless of the international pandemic. “I have a record [for Forbidden West] later today,” she teased. “It’s going– it’s still taking place!” Whether the title hits its previously revealed 2021 release date, naturally, is up for argument– but it’s good to understand that the title is coming together, and we can’t wait to see more.
