If you’re a lover of My Nintendo who’s been holding on to those pricey Platinum Points in the hope of getting something nice before they expire, then you do not require us to inform you that Nintendo’s commitment rewards program is a little … hit and miss. In some cases the rewards are quite nice – our memories include a gorgeous shiny playing card set and a Skyward Sword orchestral soundtrack, although that was back in the Club Nintendo days – and sometimes they’re littles paper with Mario’s face on them.
But Reddit user RootBearr is making the distress a bit better with their (still-in-development) tracker for checking when things remain in stock on My Nintendo. The website is currently just set up for US benefits, RootBearr states that they’re “looking into integrating numerous other regions”, in spite of Nintendo’s difficult geo-location tracking. The site can send out in-browser alerts when brand-new items are included, in addition to being able to inform you exactly how much stock is left, and when products are restocked.
