Unsurprisingly, Half-Life: Alyx got the votes for “VR video game of the year”. I’ve not played it myself, but it sure appears like it would have been an upset for Valve’s own video game not to take that one house, right? Graham called it “the Half-Life video game you’ve been awaiting” in his Half-Life: Alyx evaluation so it certainly seems well-earned.
When it comes to the other awards, Fall Guys is “better with buddies” while The Sims 4 takes house “kick back and relax”– lots of EA video games arrived on Steamonly last year, remember. Ori And The Will Of The Wisps won leading marks for visual design and Doom Eternal snags the soundtrack award. You can spot the winners in the staying categories over on Steam.
