Alternate Stadia logos and branding showcased by original designer – 9to5Google

As shared by IveGotHam on the Stadia subreddit, independent design director Jean-Lou Renoux has publicly shared some insights from the procedure of working with Google and Google Creative Lab to shape Stadia’s brand.

Amidst things like a description for Stadia’s “lively oranges” and “deep plum”– apparently picked to “evoke sensations of whimsy and excitement”– we find some alternate and early art work for Stadia’s logo design and even the standard colors it uses.

Beginning with the design that’s the farthest removed from how Stadia looks today, Renoux flaunts a vaporwave-esque blue and pink Stadia logo design produced by including a vertical ripple to a sharp-cornered letter S. This style was even demonstrated on box art work for the Stadia Controller– albeit missing out on the Capture and Google Assistant buttons.

Another alternate design develops the”S “of the Stadia logo design out of the lines of a twenty-sided die– normally called a D20 by fans of tabletop games. In a version that is definitely the closest to what we have today, the Stadia”S”logo design looks basically identical, except you can see that it’s in fact made from a three-dimensional spiral. Provided Tim Sweeney’s comments on Stadia as a platform simply a few months ago, however, it doesn’t promise that making use of that artwork can be used as proof that Fortnite for Stadia is or remained in the works.
