Nintendo Has No Plans For Cross-Platform Play Titles Across Switch And Mobile – Nintendo Life

Back in June, The Pokémon Company surprised fans with the statement of a brand brand-new team-based fight game called Pokémon Unite. It’s a cross-platform title for the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.

During Nintendo’s current six-month financials Q&A, president Shuntaro Furukawa was asked about the company’s thoughts about cross-platform play. In other words, Nintendo has “no plans” for this type of connection in any Nintendo game. Here’s his full action:

Question: Pokémon UNITE (announced by The Pokémon Company on June 24) is planned to be crossplatform for Nintendo Switch and wise devices. While this was most likely decided by The Pokémon Company, I believe that the two companies (Nintendo and The Pokémon Company) have close ties. I ‘d like to hear Nintendo’s ideas on cross-platform titles.

Furukawa: After advance conversations with The Pokémon Company about Pokémon UNITE, it was decided that offered the genre of the video game and the anticipated gamer population, a crossplatform format was proper. That stated, we have no plans for cross-platform bet Nintendo titles.

Naturally, in order for cross-platform play to get off the ground – you first need a game published throughout several devices.

Right now, about the most interaction we’ve seen in between a Nintendo mobile game and a Nintendo Switch video game is some small connection between titles like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Animal Crossing: New Horizons – where you connect your Nintendo account with both video games to get some special rewards.

Would you like to see Nintendo release a video game by itself that can be played across multiple devices? Are you a fan of cross-platform play yourself? Let us understand in the remarks.

In brief, Nintendo has “no strategies” for this type of connection in any Nintendo game. While this was likely decided by The Pokémon Company, I believe that the 2 business (Nintendo and The Pokémon Company) have close ties. Would you like to see Nintendo launch a game by itself that can be played across several gadgets?
