A face mask “hit squad” is being sent out to bus stations with the power to hand out ₤ 200 fines to guests who don’t use face coverings.

Policeman and personnel from bus operator National Express West Midlands are amongst those inspecting travellers are following the rules.

Around 9 out of ten guests are using masks as the second wave of coronavirus hits the West Midlands, according to West Midlands authorities and criminal offense commissioner, David Jamieson.
