Why I hold OnePlus to a higher standard – XDA Developers

Following the success of the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 was riding on the coattails of greatness. OxygenOS took a long time to get right and did not have features deemed essential by enthusiasts.In the case of the OnePlus 2, there was a total absence of personalization functions, and those coming from the OnePlus One felt fooled. The OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 3– 2 smart devices I acquired myself from OnePlus.Under-the-hood is where the greatest problems lie. It feels like a total departure from what OnePlus as soon as stood for.I might usually always excuse the creeping up of rates as the business always had more to offer with each iteration, and the OnePlus 8 Pro feels really close to an ideal mobile phone in a lot of concerns. As OnePlus dilutes its portfolio with more and more items, it will move its brand identity entirely.I’m particularly harsh on OnePlus as it still feels like the enthusiast brand, however with each new release, it feels like it strays even more and even more towards being simply another OEM.
