A brand-new Windows 10 Insider Preview build provides our very first peek at brand-new storage health monitoring and Your Phone functions.
“Today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20226 to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel,” the current Windows Insider post notes. “Storage health keeping an eye on to protect user information … [is] new in construct 20226.”
This new feature is designed to “discover hardware problems in NVMe-based SSDs and inform users [That they have] adequate time to act,” Microsoft states. “It is highly recommended that users immediately back up their information after getting a notice.”
It appears like Microsoft is adding a “Drive health” section to the properties page about each storage gadget in your PC in Settings > > System > Storage > > Manage disks and volumes > > Properties. This section will warn you that “dependability is broken down” and recommend that you back up the information on the drive in case of failure.
Aside from that, develop 20226 also offers a new Your Phone feature that will help users handle their linked gadgets directly in the app, which is a major enhancement over what is now an annoyance. From a new settings page in the app called My Devices, you can now link a brand-new device, remove an old device, or switch in between active gadgets. Nice.
